Apparently I've never tried to buy booze on a Sunday before. After a nice day in the hot sun, all I wanted was a beer at home. And of course neither of the BC government liquor stores on Davie are open Sundays. But why is there no where else in the West End that sells beer?!
I had to walk 12 blocks and back to get some on Granville. It was a nice walk but seems weird that finding beer on a Sunday downtown in a "world-class" is so difficult. I will not call Vancouver world-class ever again until it fills in with some more beer stores!!

most of the bars have off sales on davie

i know i have seen many people on a friday night walk out of the pump jack with a six pack of beer

they have an "off sales" section - at the far end of the bar - counter that is not the bar area - wouldn't want to send any tender eyed people to the deep parts of the scarey pump jack

lol

I did try going to the pumpjack one night for offsales. It was insanely expensive tho but good if you're desperate and can spare the extra cash, and the creepers. ;)

but yes now that you point it out there is a lack - maybe someone can fill the void

i know there is a wine store but no general alcohol type place

there used to be that one in the motel just off granville at drake and howe which did a brisk business
