Hey guys - Just a head's up that there is going to be some awesome Hamilton-related art going up this Friday on James North.
Amy Kenny paints a lot of architectural details as well as local Hamilton (and other canadian) musician portraits. Here are some examples of architecture:

And a couple musicians which you might or might not recognize:

And some of these are HUGE - here's one for scale:

More of her stuff can be seen on her website: http://ameskenny.blogspot.com/
Anyway, the opening is on Friday evening, 7-10pm at Mixed Media (this is to coincide with the James North Art Crawl). Address is 174 James North.
There will be small prints available too, and local musicial Aaron Goldstein will be playing a few tunes to mark the occasion (there will be a painting of him too). Soe of his music is available here: http://www.myspace.com/espanolamusic
I have heard there will also be free Mexican themed hors d'oeuvres
If you've never been to an art crawl, this is a good chance to see some sweet local art and check out the street. We (and a group of friends) usually head down for dinner at Mex-I-Can or Pepperjacks and then hit the crawl up, wander up and down the street for an hour and then head to the Judge for a Pint.
Hopefully We'll see some of you there :D
