South grounds of the Leg. The statue is Louis Riel, the founder of Manitoba. The distant buildings are condos/apartments in the Osborne Village area.

The grounds of the Leg. are on the banks of the Assiniboine River. The riverwalk leads several miles down the river to the Forks district. The Assiniboine freezes solid and becomes the 'Worlds Longest Skating Rink'. Although this claim is still up for dispute, from several other cities, but lets just say it's long and popular. Seven or more kilometers if I remember. This was a walk for the cure march by the way...

The Forks archeological dig which has since ended, will make way for The Canadian Museum of Human Rights. An amazing 30 story structure spearheaded by one of Winnipeg's most influential and philanthropic families. Regardless of your view of the structure it will be amazing. I for one am all in favor..
