Since the Moncton thread has become quite entertaining with the mention of beer. I just have one question; What beers are brewed in your city/region?
Here are some Maritime ones (bold means historically locally company that still brews here):
Halifax: Garrison, Keiths, Oland, Labatt, Propellor
Moncton: Pumphouse, Molsons'/Coors
Fredericton: Picaroons
Saint John: Mooseheads, Alphine

Not to criticize Bedford DJ, but it's Pumphouse Brewery, not Omphouse! They are the purveyors of many fine beer including the legendary Blueberry Beer!
Moncton's other brewery is Molsons'/Coors. They just celebrated their first anniversary this week. In their first year of production, they made 25,000,000 bottles of beer.

Toronto has Steamwhistle right? In the old roundhouse by the CN Tower. I've noticed it appearing on shelves here in Calgary quite a bit lately.
As for Calgary:
-Big Rock (as Johnnyc pointed out)
-Wild Rose
-Mountain Crest? I think they are out of Calgary.

I thought Wild Rose was Edmonton, I could be wrong. If Mountain Crest is here we should blow that place up, their beer is just awful!
Is AGD brewed here?

^ Yeah Mountain Crest is awful. AGD is not that bad, I drank a bit of it when I first moved to Calgary and was poor.
Edmonton's got a Labatts plant and a few microbrews... Alley Kat is the only one that I can name off hand, but I know there are a few more.
I stay true to my roots and drink Kokanee Gold.

I believe AGD is brewed by Big Rock.
Mountain Crest is a Calgary company but I believe their beer is actually brewed in the USA.
In fact there are many discount brands that come out of various Calgary companies.
If you are into discount beer brands, I would stick to the Presidents Choice brands...they don't have the nasty aftertaste of other low-cost brands like Mountain Crest, AGD, Bowen Island, Lighthouse, etc. Apparently they are brewed in Western Canada by Big Rock, and by Brick in Eastern Canada.

HAD.
There is only a Labatt brewery in Edmonton. Otherwise Molson and Labatt have cleared out of AB/SK/MB.
Winnipeg had a Labatt and Molson Brewery (among others) that have all since closed.

Saskatoon:
- Great Western Brewing Company: http://www.greatwesternbrewing.com
Great Western Brewing came to be as a result of the Molson Brewery closure in 1989. Employees pooled their resources and opened their own brewery. Recently, GW has won gold medals at Belgium’s Monde Selection awards for Great Western Light, Great Western Pilsner and Great Western Premium. I believe that GW beers can be found throughout the better part of western Canada nowadays.

Granville Island makes a fabulous Maple Cream Ale. I love it.
Here in Shanghai, the only brewery I'm familiar with is the Shanghai Asia Pacific Brewery, which brews the brand called REEB (no joke, but is actually a similar to the sound of the Chinese name Li Bo, which means strong wave) and brews the Singaporean brand Tiger under license.
There is one I know of, downtown, called Great White North Craft Brewery. It makes "Port Arthur Pale", which is supposed to reflect Port Arthur. He's working on one for Fort William as well, but I haven't heard anything about it. It's only sold in and around town, as far as I know, and only at the LCBO because the Beer Store is a monopoly owned by big corporations that hate the little guy. He wanted to move into the old train station downtown but I doubt he'll be able to. The city and private developers have other plans for it.
I think the Port Arthur Brasserie and Brew Pub also brewed beer in-house but I don't think they do that anymore, probably haven't for years. I heard it closed but last time I was up there it looked open.
That's all I can think of. :\
Labatt Crystal is very popular here, but it isn't made here. It's just all we can afford. :(

Wild Rose Brewery is in the Currie Barracks in Calgary. They brew delicious beer! Lot's of variety. I recommend going there for a couple beers and a meal. They serve amazing chili and beer sausage. You can also bring home a pig of beer.

Hamilton has Lakeport, but I'd be more interested in some good micro breweries. Unfortunately Hamilton doesn't have any that I know of.
In Toronto there are a couple of bigger independent breweries with great "interactive" facilities. Steamwhistle is in the roundhouse right beside the CN Tower and Mill St. Brewery at the Distillery District.

I wish there were more microbreweries out in Alberta... I've always said if I won a significant amount of money, I'd partner in opening a microbrewery...
Anyways... Here are some of my local (regional) favorite now that I live in Waterloo:
Brick Brewing Company: Waterloo, ON (http://www.brickbeer.com/)
Stratford Brewing Company: Stratford, ON (http://www.stratfordbrewing.com/on_tap.shtml)
Creemore Springs Brewery: Creemore, ON (http://www.creemoresprings.com/live/)
Walkerville Brewing Company: Walkerville, ON (http://www.walkervillebrew.com/)
Anyways, that's just a couple I like in the area. Check out this website here (http://www.ontariocraftbrewers.com/breweriesMap.php) that lists all the craft brewers in Ontario. Quiet a list I might say! They are, however missing some that are either now owned by larger corporations (such as Creemore which is now owned by Molson), or not so craft breweries such as Steam Whistle (I guess???)....
