I've posted a proper tour of Landsdale. It really is a great neighbourhood, and I think extremely underrated. I noticed some renovations and restorations over the past couple years. Retail on King and Barton is still very weak, but who knows what the future holds? The housing stock is amazing--this neighbourhood could be one of the best in Canada if gentrification ever happened.

I enjoyed the London one. The few times I've been there for shows I walked around what seems to be a decent downtown with a good mix of establishments. Hamilton could learn from just about every other mid sized city - none of them effed it up quite as bad as us. Well, maybe Brantford.

For the sake of completeness, I think I'm going to make up one last neighbourhood tour for Hamilton, a compilation of shots from James North, which I purposely avoided when I did the Beasley and Central tours. I did a James North tour a long time ago, but it wasn't up to the standards of some of the other tours.
In the meantime, some of you may be interested in my first Ottawa neighbourhood tour: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=168474

I love the square of mostly old 3-story buildings around the farmers market. It reminds me of old pictures of the Hamilton market when it was still surrounded by retail.

The nice thing about Ottawa's market is that it is a few square blocks rather than a strip. Hamilton's old market looks like it would have been similar to the Byward Market. Today the Market is easily the best part of Ottawa, and they've done a great job with the infill and things like traffic calming and routing.

2009 recap: http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=176734
Fans of industrial photography might be interested in this. The Chemical Valley near Sarnia is about the only Canadian place I know that rivals Hamilton's massive industrial landscape:

very nice Flar. I wouldn't say it rivals but def the only other place in Canada then can come close. Do those stacks shoot 20 foot flames?
Sarnia has tons more smokestacks and firestacks than Hamilton. It's a different kind of industry though, Hamilton has the heaviest and oldest industry, it's just plain massive and it's really concentrated around the harbour. The Chemical Valley spreads out for 20 miles or more. There are over 60 chemical plants plus all the power generation in the Sarnia area but many are on isolated parcels of land surrounded by fields.
You wouldn't want them all together though. In the mid 1990s I witnessed a lightning strike on a giant oil tank as I was coming over the Bluewater Bridge after a night out in Detroit. I could still see the massive plume of fire when I arrived home in Port Lambton, about 40 km away. I couldn't imagine what would happen if a fire like that spread.
Another anecdote: I used to work at Union Gas, a ways from Sarnia but still related to the petrochemical industry there. There were massive compressors that pumped gas into empty oil wells for storage. The largest jet engines in the world (at the time) were used to pump the gas underground. They were so loud you would go deaf instantly if you went in without ear protection while they were running. When they shut down, the excess gas had to be blown off, it would send a stream of gas over a hundred feet in the air and let out a sound you wouldn't believe. I was told enough gas was released to heat a fair sized town for a year. We all firmly believed that if the place blew up it would take out half of southern Ontario.
