We'll be having a Stephen Harper Christmas this season-just orange juice, mayonnaise, and broccoli. Depending on the price of gas, we might go out and build some snowmen.

Nothing. Write plays, drink whiskey and get screamed at by my girl and her abominable little prick of a kid.

Go to my aunt and uncles on Mackenzie Lake, play shinny all day on the lake. Then I go to BC on the 26th or 27th to get my sled on.
Nothing. Write plays, drink whiskey and get screamed at by my girl and her abominable little prick of a kid.
Festive.

Had plans to be with the gf, but I guess that will be difficult when she's no longer in the picture, so I'm flying solo this year.

Currently looking like most of my dads side of the family minus grandparents will be going to my uncles in Calgary. Fortunately the fact my grandparents decided they'd rather go have dinner at the Legion that night should mean a lot less stress and tension (between my grandmother, and my sister [the rebellious college student] and my cousin [the single parent] it was starting to look a bit worrying before that decision was announced)
I might take a drive to Niagara Falls. Depending on weather and how I feel.

Start out with a Christmas feast, full of stuffing, juicy golden turkey, succulent lamb
and hot potatoes then a quiet evening by the Christmas tree eating shortbread and
drinking eggnog, then we walk in the snow-covered street to the church where we
spend our midnight mass singing songs. Once we come home, we each open a gift and,
with food in our tummies, and happiness in our hearts, we lay our heads and disappear
in the blankets, dreaming away about Christmas day...

Yeah. Its highly unlikely I'll do that.
A friend had relatives visiting from Europe. They asked if they could go to Niagara Falls for the day.

I'll be driving out to Calgary from Vancouver to spend Christmas with my family. I really hope the roads are better than last Christmas but I'm sure they won't be. It took 14 hours when it should take around 10 or 11 last year.
I'll be hanging around Calgary until after New Year's Eve so I'll get to spend NYE with friends I haven't seen in a while.
Should be fun times!

Eating turkey dinner with the family, listening to Christmas classics, drinking bottle after bottle of wine, and most likely watching vacation slideshows.
Either working or on the toilet going hotototot from the Christmas eve feast.

i've heard people visiting Vancouver ask the same thing - maybe we can make a day trip to niagra falls :haha: or Lake Louise for the afternoon :haha:
a friend of a friend (they are both from other countries) wanted to drive to Toronto for the weekend - seriously they thought they could leave vancouver on friday and come back on monday :haha: they had no clue - they ended up driving to calgary or something instead and that took them 10+ hours each way
I was looking up a distance and its the same distance from Jeddah Saudi Arabia to London England as it is from Vancouver to Belleville Ontario

Me mum went to Spain in her youth and met a handsome spaniard. When she went back to Yellowknife (where she then lived) she received a call for this spaniard who said he was going to Montreal, so naturally he thought he would "drop by" Yellowknife for a visit. He took a bus from Montreal to Winnipeg, to Edmonton, to Fort Mcmurray and finally to yellowknife....It took him days and by the time he got to yellowknife he as chased away by my father.....
Apparently by the time he arrived in YK he was thinner, scruffy and completely disoriented. I love Europeans. :haha:

Usually, I celebrate with my friends and family in Edmonton, but this year my wife and I will kicking back and relaxing in Salzburg, Austria. We'll be drinking copious amounts of beer and singing the Sound of Music, that's all.
