Time for a bit of fun.
What famous people were born in Ontario. Either singer or acting.
I will start with a real oldie.
Mary Pickford, born in Toronto.
Paul Shaffer!
We named a 45 foot lane up a hill after him!
I'll go for a singer this time.
Neil Young

Ricky Gervais's dad is from London, Ontario. I think that should count seeing as virtually all the famous peolpe listed here are have moved away from the province.
No not many stayed in Ontario. Neil, Stan, and Gordon did though.
I forgot Christopher Plumber. And he mostly stayed in Ontario as well. He played at Stratford Theatre a lot.
Shows a lot of good talented people from Ontario though.
Shania Twain
Alex Trebek
Allan Thicke
You can edit the post to add stuff, you know. :)
yea I know but I was aiming for 1000 posts tonight. :haha:

Harland Williams
Speaking of gay actors, the best friend guy from Sophie is from Thunder Bay. I found this out recently via Wikipedia.
I don't know his name.

I hope you were Wikipedia-ing 'Thunder Bay' rather than 'Gay Actors'
Suppose I was looking up 'Gay Thunder Bay'?

He's easy to forget if you ask me. You did forget how to spell his name though lol.
Who cares about spelling. :)
It's the embarassing typos I hate. I was in a chatroom ages ago and typed brb I was going to the kitchen for a coke but didn't type coke. When I returned I wondered why all the women were saying they wanted 9 inches.
Some of Neil's songs I liked, some I didn't.
And welcome to the board Bones. :)
Another person with connections to Thunder Bay! Two more to go and we get our own SSP:Local! :D
I saw Rodney Brown once! :haha: He performed for about 15 minutes at the skate park opening in County Park and then got pissed off and left because no one was paying any attention.

Another person with connections to Thunder Bay!
Born and raised.
I spent my first 31 years there and then moved down here to Southern Ontario 20 years ago and am still trying to get used to it. :)
People can say what they want about TBay; it is still my home town and I always love to get up to visit and spend some time. I miss Lake Superior and the "bush". :haha:
It's too bad the same simple minds (or friends or relatives of them) still run the place.
Thanks for the welcome MsMe.

We have a system going. In elections in even numbered years, we elect the council we had in 1973. In odd numbered years, we elect the council we had in 1978. There are some minor changes (deaths, moving etc. David Hamilton was disgraced and fled the country. :)) but for the most part we do the same thing over and over again. It isn't working but that's part of our charm. :) Elections are going to be every 4 years now though, not sure how we're going to get back to the 1973 council. Maybe more resignations and appointments?
According to Wikipedia:
Actress Kristen Hager is from Red Lake
Ron Wilson, host of Edmonton AM, is from Sioux Lookout
Not very notable, I guess. :\

Tom Cruise lived in Ottawa for a bit of his youth. There is a rumor that he discovered Scientology there first and learned how to couch jump. ;)

Born and raise as well, moved out this summer, though.
I have a friend from California named Rodney Brown. I pretty much laugh to myself every time I talk to him, lol.
