What do you guys think of my idea for a simple express style bus route that would connect major destinations in the West Island to the closest Metro station. Check out the route at

Let me know what you think. Basically the bus would run from Cote Vertu Metro Station to Mcgill, via either route 40 or route 20. This would mean that people could travel for example from McGill via route 40 or 20 depending where they want to get off.

Buses would only stop at the stops marked by the eyedrop on the map. Let me know what you think.

No no. No stops on the 40. Only where the teardrops are located. The rotue 40 section is express.

According to your map, the bus goes nowhere close to Mcgill station.

Also, taking a bus outbound of Mcgill station would not be very efficient. You will get stuck in traffic.

You would rather take the subway to most western station then take a bus. you will save a lot of time.

As for the 40 route, It's not populated. About 60% of the route consists of warehouses, industrial parks or vacant lots.


And to conclude, this route already exists in a more efficient way ( along HWY 20, more populated) and from Lionel-Groulx station.

The famous 211. Taken that bus, oh, perhaps 8 thousand times (literally). I had the route memorized. The best part is the industrial grit in Lachine/Lasalle and ajacent ville emard, ville st. pierre, etc. plus the turcot interchange.

Driving along the 40 has consistently been one of the saddest experiences in my young life. It looks like Turkemistan's urban planning drop outs were put to work there. :yuck:
