Pics from my Chicago visit just before Thanksgiving. Cold, snowing, dark for a few days but nothing like it has been this past few weeks. Kind of wish it dumped snow when I was there as I love snow in the city, that is, I like it when I don’t have to drive in it.

This is a walk up Michigan Avenue with mild snow fall that didn’t stick.

The Chicago Water Tower is the second oldest water tower in the world after the Louisville Water Tower in Kentucky. Built in 1869 by architect William Boyington of Joliet limestone, it is 154 feet tall. The tower gained prominence after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. The water tower, along with a few other structures in the district, survived the fire but the tower is the currently the only remaining of those survivors.
