So yesterday, it was snowing, which is quite rare here in France. So I decided to take my camera and do a small walk in my neighborhood. I live in Nanterre, a western suburb of Paris, near La Défense, with lots of housing projects. Not many people on my pics : the streets were rather empty.

The view from my flat :

some of those high rise look like desert storm camouflage and the little windows...not good. Not up to the standards of that country.

Nice pictures, where I live in Montrouge (southern inner suburbs) the snow disappears quickly due at the pesdestrian and car traffic.

Looks like a pretty boring area (reminds me of Swedish burbs). It's hard to imagine La Défense is so close by.

Pics were great though - love to see snow in Paris. :D

These things are so bad they're actually awesome:

Though the tiny windows are a huge negative...

I've always liked the Tours Aillaud, the techni-coloured towers. I wonder if they were painted or were little coloured tiles used (my first guess)?

Never saw this area under the snow before.
Those towers are for sure the weirdest buildings I ever saw , they have something but I cannot define it...

Maybe they are just ugly?....

Merci beaucoup for that tour. Very interesting.

I wonder what kind of people live in these buildings (tours Aillaud). Are these HLM?

Thank you again

If the outside is like this. I don't wanna know how the inside will look like.
However, I like your pics so much, because it shows the other side of Paris. We all know how the Chaps Elysees look like. Right?

Les tours nuages! I went inside trying to get on the roof, couple years back. The staircase didn't look too bad. The door was locked though... Nice set, thanks for sharing!

In many case the inside of a building is more beautifull than the outside.
It is the case of many 70's buildings while many Haussmannian or older building have a more ugly interior than exterior

Unfortunely not, everybody know the Arc de Triomphe or arial view but few people know the Champs Elysees at streets level.

I love the cloud towers! I saw them when I was ten years old or something, and I never forgot them. :) I wanted to go there again when I was in Paris this spring, but instead I went to Noisy le Grand. (see pics in this thread (http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=172898))

Mais, je VEUX escalader le serpent!

Looks pretty grim, but, those towers are quite interesting in their profound ugliness.

The neighborhood is pretty mixed.
My own building (on pics 8,9, 37,38, 39) is more white, but there are also blacks, north africans (arabs) or asians living in it.

Though most of the buildings you see in this thread are public housing projects and host predominantly black and arab families.

Man, all you guys obsessing over those coloured towers are lacking in imagination. They're cool. I'm curious with regard to their floorplans. Nice photos!
