Just wondering if anyone else has the flu.

I caught it rather fast: Chipper in the morning, but by first period, I got tired then got cold symptoms, but by the end of the day, I was as sick as a dog.

25% of the class was absent (and apparently more yesterday, but I wasn't there).

Has this happened to anyone else? Or is it just in my school?

I've had it and missed five days of work. Sickest I've been in about 10 years. I would have never survived it if I was an old codger.

All four of my staff have also had it, missing at least three days each.

It's not good. Cold f/x made it bearable - but just barely.

I'm working at CHEO right now and I've been sick twice in the last 3 weeks. Two separate illnesses that had me feeling like someone kicked my ass every morning for a week.

I'm not sure exactly what I had, the flu normally lasts longer, but just over a week ago I spent most of one night with my head over the toilet. It was one of the more unpleasant experiences I've had. Fortunately it didn't last longer than that one night.

I think it's a drinking problem :haha:

The flu usually comes with a fever, a sure sign that your body is fighting a virus. Could have been some kind of food poisoning which is more bacterial. There's a lot of crap in the slush that gets splashed around in the winter and it gets in your clothes and face if you are outside a lot.

Likely viral gastroenteritis, really predominent this time of year. Rotavirus, Norwalk, adenovirus all cause this type of illness. If you've ever had the flu you'd probably know it. Your entire body hurts so much it's barely possible to get out of bed, high fevers, fatigue for 3-4 weeks after. Usually no stomach symptoms and only mild respiratory symptoms (runny nose, cough).

Last weekend we had guests from Montreal, and one of them was sick. She got my one year old sick (zero hours of sleep on friday for mom and dad), and last night I started feeling the symptoms.

This morning I feel like a sack of shit.

You know whats worse? Getting the flu in the summer for some reason, including but not limited to: drinking, being out with little clothing on a cool night, going to a hospital, drinking, SARS, eating under cooked meat, etc.

There have been great summer days when I had to stay inside. Boo!
