Fresno's Rogue Festival starts this week. The Rogue is a fringe performance festival now in its 8th year. It attracts performers from all over.

The only other fringe festivals in California that I have heard of are in San Francisco and San Diego. The oldest are found in Canada and the UK.
Called by some "edgy", "hip", "urban", etc., fringe festivals are alternative performance art festivals. They feature acts outside the "mainstream".
Fringe festivals highlight a variety of performances including one-act plays, music, dance, comedy, and more. It is a chance to see unusual and creative performance arts.
Some of the performance titles in Fresno are enough to make me laugh and be curious about the shows:
Confessions of a Karaoke DJ
The Rap Guide to Evolution
Cupid is a B*tch
That 80's Show
My Big Organ Show: “Music, Laughter, and The Meaning of Life”
Ropes of Sand
and more
