Matt Mays and Sam Roberts did a free concert at our Casino a couple summers ago. Drew a huge crowed which spilled right into the streets. I think they do this every summer, but usually it's little known bands. (Though Matt Mays was relatively unknown at the time.)

What does Dog the Bounty Hunter do to entertain people at a casino? Bring out Beth in a tank top? :haha:

Funny, last time I saw him was when I was in Vegas with a bunch of guys and we ran into him in the Mirage. We said hey, and he told us to be quiet because his security detail wasn't with him... :haha: As if everyone didn't recognize him already.

The Casino du Lac-Leamy in Gatineau, QC right across from downtown Ottawa (I mean it’s like 5 min. away) doesn’t typically feature acts catering to more youngish crowds.

The program is mostly made up of travelling music revues that are presented across Quebec (including at Montreal’s casino) that can feature themes like 50’s rock and roll, disco, Motown favourites, etc.

I was actually there for brunch (I don't gamble) last weekend and the upcoming shows were Abba Mania, Vénus (an all-female musical revue) and Quebec singer Sylvain Cossette.

In addition to Cossette, the line-up has on occasion featured other well-known Quebec singers, mostly those that appeal to the older generation. As well, the casino has also featured headline acts by European artists both francophone (Francis Cabrel, Adamo) and non-francophone (Julio Iglesias, Demis Roussos).

Some Quebec stand-up comedians have also played there.

Overall, the casino’s Théâtre, beautiful room that must seat between 1200 and 1500 people, has always had trouble finding its niche, since it is sandwiched between the local Quebec clientele in Gatineau and people from Ontario and the States that also make up a huge segment of the casino’s business.

Recently, Loto-Québec, the casino’s owner, contracted out the management of the theatre to a Montreal-based live production company in a bid to inject some new life into it, but so far I haven’t seen that much of a change.

The Stampede Casino has fairly regular shows, though not many big names. Couple upcoming I recognize from their list include Farmers Daughter, Emerson Drive, David Lee Murphy. Mostly smaller country acts, or some older acts doing small venue tours (such as Glass Tiger who did a show there on new years eve)

Aren't casinos where shitty CANCON bands of old go to die?

E.g.,
Loverboy
April Wine (who makes wine in April, anyhows?)
Barney Bentall
Northern Pikes
Chilliwack

et al.

That undersized, archaic, crumbling opium den also know as The Casino de Montreal. :)

Castlegar has been chosen by BC Lotto to be the site of their next "gaming centre". I think that means "a casino without poker". The twenty thousand square feet will include a live stage. Shovels supposed to be in the ground this month.

I'd be willing to pay like $2 to see Dr. Phil or Dawg the Bounty Hunter on stage. I'd definitely pay $5 to see them on at the same time though. Oh, the hilarity!
