Toronto isn't full of neo-nazis, homophobes and xenophobes. It's full of people who don't understand the ramifications of what a mayor like Rob Ford can do to a city's reputation and infrastructure. If Hudak becomes premier and institutes Common Sense Revolution 2.0 (god forbid knock on wood), the city is basically fucked.

And coming from a city that has fucked itself several times in the past, I can say that Toronto is in for hard times.

Your new mayor has some interesting ideas, especially the one to cap all population growth.

For the best of Ford quotes:

"If you’re not doing needles and you’re not gay, you won't get AIDS, probably."

I like this one. The ", probably." really makes it.

Wow! I guess I'm neo con for believing that the government shouldn't grow faster than the economy? Only in Canada are people jealous and petty enough to resort to picking on someone's weight and then making ridiculous comparisions to right wing U.S politics. There is no comparision!
Ford is nothing remotely like a tea party movement politician!
Ford is such a racist received the vast majority of the immigrant vote!
He's actually accepts he's not an urbanite and will have public meetings regarding a proper DRL line http://www.westonweb.ca/?p=680

Must I remind you, make sure brain is in gear before engaging mouth!

It doesn't say anything about the DRL on that page, only the Eglington line, which is further from downtown than Bloor-Danforth...

Eglinton deserves the DRL 2x more than Queen imo. North of Bloor has been, for the most part, ignored for the past 15 years. It would also be the best option for a Pearson link further down the road and would link all of the boroughs.

That doesn't do anything to relieve passenger traffic on YUS line downtown.
