Work is still underway at Citygarden. (http://www.gateway-foundation.org/launch.html) - a new $30-million sculpture garden in downtown St. Louis, which is opening in a few weeks. It is a part of and an enhancement of the Gateway Mall, which stretches from the Mississippi River to St. Louis Union Station. The enhanced area is to include water features (fountains and splashing water jets), an on-site restaurant, walking trails, and many works of art. The restaurant, The Terrace View, a 3,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor restaurant, is to be geared toward Mediterranean foods – mostly French and Italian.

St. Louis is known to have some of the best sculpture gardens in America. The ninety-six acre outdoor museum, Laumeier Sculpture Park, is located in St. Louis and draws tourists from all over the country. The Missouri Botanical Garden is also widely known for its sculptures and sculpture exhibits.

Wow, the citygarden is looking great! ArchCity, do you know how many pieces will be displayed in the park? Also, any plans for other food or drink options, maybe at the opposite end of the park away from the Terrace Restaurant?

St. Louis' Citygarden has gotten some press from the New York Times.

The downtown sculpture garden looks good too. Check out pictures of its opening. (http://www.flickr.com/photos/eby/sets/72157620701018004/show/)
