Hi, as we know Brazil is economically emerging and Sao Paulo, its richiest city is reflecting this happening.

Here is my view from a new region in Sao Paulo where new buildings are beeing constructed and where new offices from internacional companies are coming.

I think it was around 14ºC at São Paulo at the time, although Paulistas can be a bit pussies about the cold. :D

Sometimes its just a question of fashion... or elegance... ya know... you have some nice winter clothing and take every opportunity to wear them. :)

anyway, all of those jackets are light jackets, not very warm.

According the Köppen climate classification São Paulo has a humid subtropical climate. Temperatures seldom reach 30 °C (86 °F) during summer, while frost is rare during winter due to being an urban heat island. All-time record temperatures are 35.3 °C (95.5 °F) on November 15, 1985 and −2.1 °C (28 °F) on August 2, 1955 (both at the Mirante de Santana National Weather Station, in the north region). In the mountains around the city (Horto Florestal), −3.9 °C (25 °F) was recorded also in August 2, 1955 (unofficially).

come on... Chicago in January is like -15C. And from photos I see of people in Chicago, in january, no, these people are not dressed like chicagoans in January.

most people wearing LIGHT jackets are wearing t-shirt under them, for example, while in Chicago you would use a heavy jacket and some layers of sweaters...

Well if there's one thing that makes me happy about these photos, it's the fact that all the women are wearing heels :)

Here in America, women very rarely wear heels or anything on a platform, they're fashion-challenged.

But on the other hand, I don't see any smiles. People are looking gruff and arrogant and have their arms crossed. Actually, this is kind of ironic because I've been told by my friends (who've been to Brazil) that Brazilian girls supposedly have a "sunny disposition" and are really approachable. I've always had my doubts, but these photos confirm my thoughts.

Ive followed some expats blogs in Brazil, and american women mainly complain a lot that they dont feel confortable wearing snickers in Brazil unless when going to the gym, etc... same thing for large tshirts :haha:
