I flew back into St. Louis on a hazy day last week. Also, as the plane approached Lambert St. Louis International, the flight attendant advised me to turn off my camera. I had to do quick snaps so that I wouldn’t be arrested for using electronics during the approach. Some of the photos are a little fuzzy because I had to be quick.

Downtown St. Louis is huge, but its Central Business District is typically what most people see in images.

This photo illustrates most of Downtown St. Louis. The bridges to the left connect Downtown St. Louis to South St. Louis. Notice the green strip of trees near the center of the photo starting at the Gateway Arch. It is the Gateway Mall, which includes the new Citygarden (http://www.flickr.com/photos/urbanreviewstl/sets/72157620812172806/).

I am really disappointed with how this turned out because it is the Midtown/Central West End/Medical Center skyline looking south. This Central Corridor skyline looked awesome from the sky, but not necessarily in the photo. The tallest building in this skyline is 30-stories. North St. Louis is in the foreground.

Downtown Clayton (background). I-70 at the I-170 interchange. I-170 (an innerbelt) goes from I-270 (large ring) to Clayton/Mid St. Louis County. The building trimmed in red is an airport parking garage.

I love when you take off from STL, and the plane banks hard on your side and you see the confluence of the Missouri, Mississippi, and Illinois river with a twilight sun shimmering off the water.
