The white and pink stucco building, sign says Casablanca, on Haymarket street to be exact. I went past it today and there was a construction crew and trucks and work is in progress. Anyone in the know?

Two floors, first floor for a restaurant and the second floor had a single unit. It'll get demolished soon.

Replaced with an office building, 2 or 3 storey. The addition will be sandwiched between two other office buildings facing Hughson St. It'll connect the two buildings together.

So the building is gone. I heard the plan is a parking structure to serve the GO station. Any official word on this? I didn't see a demolition permit or building permit last time I checked.

I'm thinking a multilevel parking structure is overall positive. I don't believe in the downtown GO park & ride approach which is obviously ass-backwards - getting people to drive in to downtown only to catch the train out - but any higher order parking infrastructure is a step towards upgrading our surface lots.

The steel frame is up.

Here is a rendering of the final design:

Looks like a fairly good contextual fit for the street.

^^ So I hate that they tore down a bldg to make way for their new pkng lot, yet really like how these offices fit into the Augusta hood urban fabric.
Actually, there are a couple office-type buildings in Corktown like this! I like it.
