Not which building is taller, but which has the highest point above sea level. I work at Christ Hospital and they say the top of the hospital is the highest point in Cincinnati. I have been in an arguement with my coworkers that it is not the highest poing, but Carew Tower is higher.
For those of you unfamiliar with Cincinnati, the tallest building is Carew Tower (574ft), but it sits near the river, about a mile away and much lower ground level than the hospital, which is up on a hill that by my calculations is about 300ft higher than downtown. I
I can't find a building height for the hospital, so I have just been guessing. The hospital has around 10 floors, and maybe a couple of partial partial floors (mechanical maybe) on top of that with a bell tower on top of the partial floors. I'm guessing that total height may be aroudn 13 floors, but it's hard to tell. With it being a hospital, the each floor might be taller than a normal office building, it's hard to estimate the height, but I'm guessing maybe 200ft. Here is a birdseye view of the building that will help explain why I'm having a hard time guessing:

From the usgs website (http://seamless.usgs.gov/website/seamless/viewer.htm) I have estimated that ground height for Carew Tower is 540', add the 574' for the building height, and I came up with 1114. For Christ Hospital, the ground height is about 870', add in the estimate 200' building, and I'm getting 1070.
I've showed this to my coworkers, and they think I'm BSing them. They say they've been on one of the top floors of the hospital and it looks down on the Carew Tower. I told them it's probably an illusion since they are about a mile or mile and a half away from eachother.
How can I be sure which is higher? Will a gps give me extremely accurate hieght above sea level? I'm not sure even that would work since I probably couldn't get up into the tallest floors in either of the buildings. I need definitive proof to win this bet. I also said there are a couple of other buildings that may be higher than either (a bit farther away and possibly a higher ground level on UC's campus.)
Sorry for the ramble...
