This Labor Day week I went down to Dallas and Fort Worth, and took a side trip for a couple nights to Oklahoma City. I enjoyed Oklahoma quite a bit, even if downtown wasn't the most busy place I've seen, it had some very nice architecture. Here are some of the pictures I took.

The Oklahoma Land Run Monument, currently about 1/3 complete. When it's done it will involve a few dozen statues spread over several acres at the end of the Canal.

The Capitol, with its functioning oil well

The skyline from Myriad Botanical Gardens. This is also the same shot that's on the front of the AAA book for Oklahoma I had with me.

Hope you enjoyed. When I get around to it I will make a Dallas and a Forth Worth thread as well.

Brings back warm fuzzies of home. Suppose I'll have to get back there one day.

I was there in 2002 and I saw the memorial. Very touching. The architecture downtown was impressive. Obviously a lot needs to be done, but overall it is a nice city and the quality of life and raising a family there would probably be nice.

There will be plenty of pics posted on this forum over the next couple years as they just broke ground this week on the 850 ft. Devon Energy tower in downtown. The tower will be right next to the Colcord Hotel (2nd pic) and will dominate the skyline from Myriad Gardens as it will be 350 ft. taller than the current tallest Chase Tower (the boxy brown building).
