Anyone from the city have time this week(end) who might want to take some photos of the city with me? This is my first trip to Michigan and I've seen so many great photos on here of downtown & the historic spaces; I know a local would have much more advantage when it comes to the best places to get some good skyline and streetscape shots (and of course I was hoping to get a few pictures of me with my finishers medal and shirt!)...

Please let me know if you're interested!

The half marathon last Sunday was tinged by tragedy. Three of the runners collapsed and died.

The deaths were two Michiganders and one Ohioan. The OP is from Minnesota.

This wasn't the right year for me. Could have helped out three or four marathons ago as I ferried relay runners around.

How unfortunate..there was a guy who once died at the 2004 mini marathon in Indianapolis who left behind a wife and two young children. I think he was in his early 30's. I was running only a half mile behind him. Before anyone runs any race it's crucial to get checked out at a doctor first if they have a preexisting condition.

DuluthJon, I wish you the best of luck on the race. I was suppose to do the Chicago marathon in 2005 but never made it because some of life's unexpected changes (ie divorce, unemployment). I look forward to getting back into the game once again now that I am no longer on the road driving a truck.
