View Full Version : Examination Tables
| | |
Well, there are three metal and vinyl examination tables that I need to get rid of. One of the orange/brown style and two of the white/black style (though one has damaged vinyl).

Any suggestions? Any theatrical/film prop companies in the area?

Nothing like that locally. You'll have to try Toronto.
The second model is one still used in hospitals today -- I could see that one cleaned up used as a baby change table, or with a new, hard top used as a media center with side shelf or as a big entryway table with a built-in boot tray... or even repurposed as an industrial-looking vanity with a vessel sink or two and a side step for kids to stand on or stack towels on.
If nothing else, you could Freecycle them but its nice to make a couple bucks when possible.

It's a sturdy thing. I've had ads on Kijiji for a while, but no takers so far. Until they are seriously in the way, I'll keep trying. Interesting ideas though. It is huge, so you'd need quite a big house for any of those. Plus it's heavy! An idea was to try and appeal to fetishists... lol... "would you like to play doctor?" but again while that would be funny, it would be working out how to appeal to them. :haha:
take the cushion off and you have a great cabinet for storage.

Sadly no. The prop house I used to frequent in my film/theatre days has closed, and I'm not up on the latest.

I'll ask a couple Toronto people I know who work/worked in film for some prop company names or ideas of who might take them.

Adam: It's tempting, but unfortunately they take up too much space and we'd rather they went to a new home.
Highwater: No worries.
Realcity: We did think fetishists!!
Emge: that'd be very useful! Thanks

omro - I messaged you on Facebook about someone who might be willing to take them. They'd want to use them for props and/or for their gallery.
