Interesting read, I will find out soon enough, I'm there in 12 days. Did get a fantastic hotel rate on SZ road (as seen on the DB thread) for $120/night, so the crisis isn't all bad for those of us who want to go and see. Too bad the BD is delayed a month so I miss the opening.

Luckily, I have no investments or interests there.

I wish I had a business to pay for the trip, but it is vacation. I am spending 3 days there on my way to India for 2 weeks of travel. Of couse, as a pretty frequent SSP poster, I am looking forward to my 68 hours in the UAE as much as my 2 weeks in India (flying Etihad via Abu Dhabi, so 2 days Dubai and the remaining half day hours in Abu Dhabi)

any hints are welcome, if you know the area...

Its this view right here on SSP in the BD thread that made me choose this hotel, just HAD to do the Sheraton SZ Road. Hopefully I can do this good with my camera.

I recommend visiting the old Souk in Dubai along Dubai Creek, that area is extremely interesting, and about as "historic" as Dubai gets! As far as Abu Dhabi, be sure to at least see the exterior of the Grand Mosque. It's enormous, and absolutely breathtaking! :yes:
