As H-E-B expands in Central Texas, downtown is on its wish list

H.E. Butt Grocery Co., the dominant grocer in Central Texas, will open its new grocery store on East Riverside Drive on March 5, and its new location in Dripping Springs is targeted to be finished by the end of July, company officials said.
And while there are no plans on the table, H-E-B's president said Thursday that the company wants to eventually have a store in downtown Austin.
