Is someone interested to make an animated drawing of the huge rides, I posted on http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?p=4857118#post4857118?
A non-animated I can do of course, but an animated would be much greater!

Animated drawings are not encouraged.

Oh, for these objects they would be great for better understanding how this ride works and that the object has large movable parts.
Why would people browsing this site need to understand that? Why do amusement park rides even need to be on here?

It is because disencouragements like those questions, why i am almost not participating here anymore. It is only boring buildings to see in the diagrams recently. Why you Vid, instead of complaining, don't you help doing your drawings again a little bit? You would use your time usefully, i suppose. I browse this site to see different diagrams... for example. As site was before allowing more, made me more fun. Now not. If i would be in drawing, i could help animating this one, but then those frustations kill everything, every try. Not positive at all!

A non-animated drawing of these rides can result in misunderstandings. One may think that the structure carrying the passagiers may always be in the same height.
And looking at animated drawings makes fun.

I don't think they need an animation to understand that an amusement park ride moves.

Well it may do all those things, but making a smooth animated gif is not easy.
And there is no point making an animation if it's jerky. You'll just confuse people.

Just thought i'd reiterate the point that if you want a new feature you'll have to prove that it is possible first.
There is no point at all in saying "animations would be great" if you're unable to give us a good example of how it would be done.
If you animated this ride http://www.funtime.com.au/data/vienna.html it would look like flies buzzing around the tower.

But one would see on the animation that all seats buzz around the tower in the same height and that the structure carrying the seats is slowly moved up and down.

Animated drawings are borderline - they may be banned from the diagrams a t some point. They only reason we are able to do animated drawings is that the GIF file format just so happens to support animations. At some point the diagrams may change over to using PNG format images, which don't support animations.

You completely missed the point, at the 1 pixel + 1 metre scale you can't draw the thin chains or the swings which would be doing the spinning.
It would just look like 1 pixel wide lines going back and forwards if you inaccurately drew the chains.
Add in the the transparent nature of the ride which would mean you would see the lines/swings moving back the other way.
It would be a complete mess of an animation. Why can't you see this?
I'm tempted to draw it just to show you how stupid it would look.

Skyscraperpage shouldn't really have Ferris Wheels and large trees. I understand they're interesting and are a good reference for size, but not really appropriate for a skyscraper website. Just my opinion.

Oh, these rides are situated in one of the most famous amusement park in the world, where perhaps the most famous Ferris wheel, which was for several decades the largest in the world stands. A comparision with this Ferris wheel is always interesting!
Amusement rides in the databank are well placed, as operators often compare large amusement rides with other well-known buildings and structures. Beside this, such objects are from great public interest.
As I have already non-animated drawings of these rides, there is no requirement for animated drawings. It was just an idea of mine as such rides have large moveable parts.

Was I were supposed to talking with you? Anyway, do your site as you want... I don't care. If you want to put trees, go ahead.

Settle down there, princess. No need for the constantly shitty attitude towards everyone that disagrees with you on this site.

neither you princess. Settle down also of disagreeing with others complaining about other opinions. You are shittying only all time, instead of doing positive things. I didn't immagine how arrogant you are. If you don't agree, you can shut up your mouth. Teenager.

Hey, knock it off.
Dylan has already stated the reasoning for why we do not encourage animated diagrams and Jonny has pointed out how certain items would be impractical to make. End of Story.
