What happened to the green lasers at Shaw Millennium Park? I saw them in operation one time, many years ago: a green laser mounted in the central tower of the pavilion that shone on mirrors arranged in a circle. The result was a cool pillar of light that shone right up into the sky.
I tried to Google for the answer, but I found nothing.

Someone asked recently either here or on another forum, and I think the answer that someone gave was that the Airport had an issue with them as they were directed upwards and could be a hazard to pilots.

iirc they got permission from Nav Canada to have the light display before it began construction. I suspect something else is up

They did get permission from Nav Canada. I remember flying and seeing the NOTAM about the airspace closure because of the laser show. I can't remember but I think it was an airspace closure of 5 nm surrounding Millennium Park up to a certain altitude which has a minimal impact on air traffic at that time of night. That being said, Nav Canada may have changed their mind since then as new information became available. Personally, I think it has more to do with the fact that it's probably expensive to install the mirrors and run the laser and Millennium Park hasn't really hosted the number of night-time events that was hoped for at the time of construction.
