Great pictures! I like the one looking thruogh the open window beyond a stone wall at the capitol. What is the window and wall (assuming it's the same structure) from? An old fort?

What church is that? It appears to be a cathedral for some diocese based in Ottawa. Obviously Catholic or Episcopal.

What an artful thread! Great work flar, some really vibrantly coloured shots throughout. This is probably my favourite thread by you.

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent!

Well done Flar, you're probably SSP's most improved photographer since you first started!

I like the photos, but the huge black frames and the central alignment is way too distracting for me - I think it would be better without.

Nice photos.

The red of the Transitway stations seems excessive.

The guys in Sloan have not aged very well.

South Vietnam FTW!

Great set. Ottawa shouldn't really exist, and the legitimacy of its claim to consume the oxygen it does is tenuous at best, but it's too late to turn the clock back now. Not a lot to work with, but on the other hand the Flar treatment can make anything look compelling.

Two comments on two photos:

Why, God...why do people defile themselves with tattoos? The woman on the left is exquisite, save for that hideous ink on her arm. It's like a perfect dinner ruined by a sudden and unstoppable attack of the schits. Sad.

Why does one person named Timothy need to be reserved for sinners? Would anyone named Timothy do, or is there one in particular that Christ Jesus has targeted? ? And puh-leaze...the Romans were hardly ungodly. They had heaps of gods, way more than the Xians had. And they were way better, too.

Fantastic. Is that a new camera/lens?

A couple months ago, this is my third thread with the new gear.

The window shot is from the ruins of an old mill along the Ottawa River. The chuch is Notre Dame Cathedral, a very prominent feature of the Lowertown/Byward Market area.

The construction is the new Convention Centre and the wierd structure in the photo above is an inflated sculpture called a Luminarium. You can go inside and walk around.

There is a Notre Dame Basilica in Ottawa as well as in Montreal.

Unfortunately Notre-Dame in Ottawa gets overshadowed by its big brother in Montreal. That's why I'm glad it was exhibited here, hopefully more people check it out now

There are a few weird sculptures like that along the Transitway. I guess it's some kind of artwork?

The interior is very detailed. The door happened to be open when I walked by one day, so I popped in and snapped a few shots. I will definitely return someday, with a tripod.

That thread started out solid and just got better and better. For God's sake that Luminarium must be deflated though.
