I no longer live down there and gave up drinking almost 30 years ago but I would recommend that you travel to downtown Halifax if you enjoy live music. Even better, enjoy the historic sites and stay sober :D

Long walk for a pint in the evening and I am totally against driving under the influence.
Looking for a local place to wind down after a 2 day drive.
Thanks anyway:cheers:

I can't think of anything in that area.

You could go out to Quinpool road or downtown and take the 14, 20 or 32 bus back.

There's nothing around there, you'll have to go at least to the peninsula.

Where will you be specifically? This is actually a pretty big area - Herring Cove is not walking distance to Cowie Hill, and if you are willing to bus or taxi then you could just go downtown to a place like Argyle Street.

The Armview Restaurant and Lounge is right by the rotary. If you are in Armdale/Cowie Hill then it could be a reasonable walk and it seems nice, although I've never been there. It's possible that the Yacht clubs also have bars open to the public..? Aside from that there are probably a couple of cheap taverns. There must be a couple in Spryfield.

Maybe Bowlarama?

To be honest if I were you I'd catch a bus in town to the Quinpool area or even downtown. The reputation of Spryfield is something that would keep me away from its dirtier areas.
