Another Shopper's Drug Mart
:jester:
Shoppers bought out a competing pharmacy chain here and has several locations very close to each other, and franchise owners are pissed. One location was finally closed but they probably need to close two or three more at least to make them all viable.
It is apparently a problem with Shoppers nation-wide. It is as if they're not looking at where they're awarding these franchises or haven't heard of the concept of market cannibalization.

It looks like a store or something could fit in where they are doing construction, but theres no sign or anything telling us what it could be.
Small commercial construction in suburbs is like that. There is a chance that a developer is just building it to have it built and it will sit empty for a while while they look for a tenant.
If it is a smallish lot near a busy intersection I'm going to bet on some sort of coffee place. Keep us posted.

I don't think this is it. This is too far west, and is where the Pizza Hut is/was?
What the OP is talking about is further east, near the corner of Place d'Orléans Dr. (west) and St-Joseph. The old Chinese food place is called Willie's I think.
This area already has a Tim Hortons, on the north side of St-Joseph.

I don't think that is it, but it doesn't surprise me that another Tim Horton's is in the works since the one at St Joe and Place D'Orleans Drive (across from Shoppers) has a serious capacity problems particularly wrt to the drive-thru :slob:

Really? You mean 4 Shoppers in one block is not economically viable? Why am I shocked!

Maybe Orleans will become like some parts of suburban Toronto, where there are sometimes two Tim Hortons facing each other on either side of the same road!

I suspect at some locations they are going to need a drive-thru setup that looks something along the lines of a highway toll plaza....

Well there are Tim Hortons across from each other on Rideau St. one right when you walk in Rideau Centre and the other one the other side. And there are lights right in front of them, so it's not like it's an inconvenience to cross the street. Also there are 2 Petro Canadas right across the street from each other at Blair and Innes.

There's a bunch of white blocks now where the lot is. I looks like for a support wall, not too sure. I'll try to take a picture to post it up.
