Concerning Karaganda:
I suppose the 356 metres tall radio mast west of Karaganda ( http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=88849 ) is also a longwave radio mast. The facility to which it belongs look like a typical Soviet-type high power AM broadcasting centre.
Unfortunately I have got no further information on it and Google Maps has no high-resoluted pictures of the area.
