Interesting Facts/Records (in own words): These three guyed masts, which were arranged in a row oriented to Bordeaux, were used by Radio Monte Carlo for its longwave transmission on 218 kHz with a power of 1200 kW.

In spite of the high transmission power the signal could only be worse received in the northern parts of France
as the Alps dampened strongly the signal and so in 1972 Radio Monte Carlo started to built a new longwave broadcasting facility at Roumoules, which was inaugaurated in 1974.
After inaugauration of Roumoules transmitter, the masts were demolished. These masts were the tallest man-made objects demolished in France so far.

( Note: there are still several radio masts of less height, which are used by Radio Monte Carlo on Col de
la Madone for mediumwave, FM- and TV-broadcasting)
