Last week I took a trip to New Orleans, and for a couple days rented a car to go see Baton Rouge and tour some plantations. New Orleans gets shown some on the forum, but I don't recall much on Baton Rouge, so I wanted to post some of the pictures I took there.

Baton Rouge seemed like a pretty decent city, probably ignored due to its larger neighbor to the south, but I had a nice time there. Hope you enjoyed.

We don't see much of "Red Stick" on here. The downtown area is starting to come alive after being almost dead for many years.

Half of mY family lives in and around baton rouge, it's downtown has a long long long way to go and was almost completely destroyed during the 50s thru 80s. I've been downtown a few times and it was completely devoid of life which is strange because lsu is like a mile away which means it should have a lively downtown like austin. But slowly downtown rouge city is coming to life.

Love that capitol building - the newer one. The old one, too.
