I find it really cool that in the last couple of years the suburbs have started to attract vestiges of decently dense condo development.

I like the craftsman elements, but overall the design seems a pretty incoherent pastiche to me... but then again, given the most likely alternatives for a location like this, I'll say "not bad" and agree with Ottawan.

6 storeys? The developer had better hope it doesn't get the same reception as the 6 storey building proposed just to the south:

Something tells me that the Baseline folks will be more accepting, given their proximity to several existing high-rises and a delightful pornography store ;)

Incoherent is a great word to describe it. You know you're in trouble when you 'bold architectural statement' is a protruding concrete balcony pad.

I'm lost of the status of what is going on with Baseline between Greenbank and The Queensway-Carleton Hospital. It seems this development is on the site that Regional was trying to develop.

The saga of the Regional was truly sad. I saw it had been approved by the City and I think went to OMB. What then? And is then another attempt to develop something on the site? Is it approved?

And now Brigil looks to be taking a stab at adding some density in this part of Ottawa too:

Sadly, I can't help but think "don't bother trying".

Based on this ad that was in the Citizen on Saturday, I think "Courtyards" IS the Regional Group Morrison-Draper proposal. It seems like Regional has sold their interest in the project to Greatwise.

This 6-storey building is just the first of many, as can be seen in the rendering.

Maybe this thread should be merged in with the Morrison-Draper thread.

Those two developments will add a lot of density to that area. The Brigil one is rental apartments, I believe, which is good for bringing in all demographics.

aaah, that clears it up. Thanks.
And I really do not like to ever judge a development on whether or not I think it looks good. I recognise that what is ugly to me may be beautiful to another. I am not the only person on this planet and sometimes people are going to produce things that aren't for me.
.....but, man is that rendering an improvement over the Regional 'teal green castles' one.
