I was just looking at the Trump Toronto website and while doing a dumb booking, I noticed that the Presidential Suite cost $20,000/night (+$2,200 tax!!!!) which made me wonder which are the most expensive suites/hotels in this country.
I also checked Ritz Carton Toronto and its most expensive suite was $6,000 and Four Seasons $3,900. All these rates for Feb. 2012 booking (except RC).
Is Trump Presidential Suite the most expensive (I know rates will change based on demand, but I'm looking at the average)?

I will say it again, that's just absurd.
No wonder we have movements like occupy wall street with people out there that can spend 20,000$/a night on a hotel suite without even batting an eye.

Often the advertised rate is simply for bragging rights. Outside of very high demand nights / events (New Years, TIFF), I imagine the suite could be had for a fraction of the posted rate...

I believe $20,000 IS the off-season rate and it really isn't expensive, just look at other luxury hotels around the world.
I was just wondering if it is the highest in Canada.
Could rent a presidential suite in Thunder Bay for a year for that kind of money. :frog:

Really, who the Fxxk cares about the most expensive hotel in Canada! No offence but we're gonna price ourselves out buisness. Motel 6 is good enough for most folks! "We'll leave the light on for ya"!

In the last few years Ryan's Mansion seems to have been the place to be, it's where the royals stayed. The Royal suite is still only $1,000 a night.

These guys begged to be in my Magazine earlier this year, when we did a feature on the Royal Couple and had them as our cover storey.
At that point I was already sold out of space, I did want them in though.

It's Trump-ish marketing. Like having the most expensive and luxurious this or that and gold plated toilet seats and cats that fart sapphire dust.
Doubtful they'd ever get 20000 for the suite in Toronto but it's probably the maximum legally they'd be allowed to charge.

Nobody except a corporation booking at the very last minute pays the Rack Rate.
These rooms usually go to frequent stayers and other good customers as perks. I've stayed in a couple dozen different presidential type suites for the usual $200/night rate simply because I have been frequent customer of that hotel chain for half a decade. Most have a rack rate between $2000 and $5000 per night.
Someone who stays at a Ritz for 50 nights per year would likely get an automatic upgrade to the presidential suite too.

Exactly my point earlier... It's all bragging rights. They could post it at $100k/night if they needed to upstage another hotel... Doesn't mean they'll get it.

I'd just about bet you a shiny new dime that those paying such crazy rates are rarely business executives, but rather, Arab Sheikhs, the sons of despots, and some Euro Trash.

The Queen's suite at the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald in Edmonton is $3500ish depending season.
