Yes, London Property Group, purveyors of red brick walkups across the land, are at it again...

There have been some recent housing demolitions on those lots.

What? Are they going to take the only decent-looking houses on all of Wharncliffe Road and replace them with another St. Felix the Cat monstrosity?

At least the disgustingly ugly walk-up to the south of these cool houses will have some company now.

I honestly don't mind them. If you want to see truly hideous student housing you need only come to Waterloo: I can see 4 cranes outside my window right now and every single one is constructing a stucco student apartment monstrosity.

I don't mind the walkups either. Better than the giant bungalows in Oakridge.

You're missing the point entirely. The walkups may be better than a bunch of mass-produced low-density rubbish, but they're not better than the existing low-density housing currently on site. If construction was properly executed, and if they added shops or other streetfront features, I wouldn't mind so much. But they won't. They'll just be cheap, dreary, and inhuman rental units that destroy the streetscape. I may consider filing an objection against the development.
