(note: the current unit/room number of the 1989 building and 1992 expansion is unknown. The current room/unit listing contains only the expansion.)

Harrah's Las Vegas was originally opened as Holiday Casino in 1973, as a one-tower hotel and casino designed by Homer Rissman. Holiday Casino underwent two major expansions in 1983 (adding Mardi Gras North Tower, designed by Rissman) and 1989 (adding the Carnival Tower, designed by Martin Stern Jr). The complex was renamed Harrah's Las Vegas in 1992.

In 1997 the hotel was bought outright and renovated by Harrah's in 1997; the Carnival tower was expanded, and towers were given their current names. As of 2006, this hotel complex contains 2,559 rooms.
