Mine used to be BofA Charlotte. It's just so elegant and smooth. But lately Hearst Tower has really won me over. It's less smooth and more BAM!
Aside from my Charlotte bias, my other favorite southern skyscrapers include Wachovia Tower in Winston-Salem, BellSouth in Nashville, and SunTrust in Atlanta.

I apologize. See, I'm on a high-speed 56K ISP. In other words, I have compressed graphics, unless I choose to load something in full quality. So to me, your avatar looked like this:

Me too. :D
I use Netscape instead of Internet Explorer so the pictures are of perfect quality.

perfect quality? Never used Netscape, but right now if I want to see a full-quality image, I just right-click it and hit "show full quality", and it'll load for me.

Dec 13, 2003, 8:45 PM
I know. It's annoying, that's why I converted to Netscape.

I think you should try IE.

Ugh. I'm not too good with skyscrapers and their names, but there's one in midtown Atlanta, probably about 900 ft. It's got a spiral on it. Anyway, that's my favorite one in the South.

Hmmm. . .I probably couldn't narrow it down to just a certain favorite. I have so many that I like, there's no way to list just one. However, here's a couple of my favorite Southern skyskyscrapers:
Four Seasons (Miami)

Westin Peachtree (Atlanta)

Dude, you've got truly classical tastes. From Memphis, my favorite would be the Clark, despite its mundane East-Memphis surroundings. A beautiful building that would have really added a different dimension if it were downtown.
Overall, I think my favorite would be one of the pyramid-topped ones in Atlanta, not the BOA, but the one in the background in Pride's post above.

Of course its the Bellsouth Tower in Nashville, but my other is the Lexington Financial Center in Lexington, KY. So sleek and elegant at night.

Mine would definately be BofA, Charlotte. Honorable mentions, BofA-Dallas, Hearst Tower, Modis Tower, Fountain Place, and Westin Peachtree.

I'm all about nostalgia, so here's my top five:
Three old ones:
Merchants National Bank Building (now Regions Bank) in Mobile

Under Construction in 1929:

BofA - ATL

I really like the crowns on both of the above.

Actually, the buildings in my overrated list are all quite nice. I guess I feel that they are a little overhyped.
Some more buildings that I like that I didn't list earlier are BoA Center in Orlando, Promenade II in Atl, and the pic of Charlotte Center posted by Pride is really cool looking as well.
