Yeah, LONG overdue! I had NO idea this building was so long under construction! I love to watch 'em rise!

It's a shame it will only be 319m (~1060ft) though. If they could have kept the original model's height of >500m...:D    ;) 8)

How far is this tower from IFC2,BoC etc?

For reference, from IFC2, you can walk to World Wide House via the footbridge, there is a City Bus bus-stop along Connaught Road for Route 930. It goes by Nina Tower in Tsuen Wan and there's a bus-stop near the building. You can see the skyline if you're heading back to Central. From recent photos I saw here and the site itself tongiht, there isn't much difference and the progress seems to slow down....

Fabb
Feb 1, 2004, 5:57 PM
Thanks for the tip, but is it worth taking the bus instead of the KCR ?
Is it a scenic trip ? or much cheaper than the KCR ?

Lecom
Feb 2, 2004, 7:58 PM
How is it gonna affect the skyline?

superchan7
Feb 2, 2004, 9:44 PM
The downtown skyline, not at all. It will create a focal point for the Tsuen Wan area, which is for the most part pretty run-down, with old residential blocks and industrial buildings. There are quite a few urban renewal projects going on there.

Fabb
Feb 2, 2004, 9:57 PM
Is it some kind of gentrification ?
The new complex will include a luxury hotel.

Not as scenic as the Airport bus to HK Island. #930 is a shorter version where you can see developments in Lai King, Mei Fo, Lai Chi Kok, Cheung Sha Wan, Sham Shui Po, Mong Kok, Olympic City, and The Harbourside...etc

Jun 17, 2004, 8:30 PM
What makes you think they are done laying the central core? Look at the bamboo up at the top of the core--they are probably going to connect more of it soon. They are just trying to catch up with the central core by adding more floor plates. And yes, it looks like only 40 floors to me. The shorter tower has definitely reached it's full height.
