The Gold Coast City Council has called for public comment on the proposed redevelopment of the Surfers Paradise Transit Centre site. Five development options have been placed onto public display. Option one involves the construction of 3 towers.

There is no height limit for Surfers - so another option is just two towers - one 14 storeys - and the other one over 80 storeys. Many locals are saying too many highrises in surfers - hopefullyl there will be some tower supporters also making comments at the website.

DAMN indeed! - Already we have Q1 U/C at 322m, Circle on Cavill 2 U/C at 220m, Soul proposed at 245m, the lend lease site which will probably go to around 70-75 floors and Culwulla who has talked with GCC Council has stated that there are a few others at around 50 - 70 floors! - or is that the Raptis site, or maybe this is it - I have lost track of all these sites????

Keep in mind, nothing ever seems to get cancelled in GC.

Culwulla over at SSC, has mentioned soo many big development plans, I have lost track, this place will be unrecognisable by 2010.

And remember, in the 60s Gold Coast City was nothing more than swampland and sugar cane farms, with shacks lining the coastline! - I think I'll have to do a thread in City Photos soon showing off GC, most people dont even know it exists.

Good for Gold Coast and Queensland, Brisbane is booming as well.:cool:
