yah I'm guessing what the final colour of the building will be as renderings can be deceptive.

anyway here the website for the project with some cool renderings:

Structure is now about 4-storeys above ground for both towers.

It's really moving fast now. But couldn't they come up with a different cladding color? Almost every new building in Marina Bay is going to have a dark green cladding.

RafflesCity
Feb 12, 2007, 2:06 PM
The cladding of the Sail would be more bluish than greenish though...a huge visual relief to the cluster of green.

Another cluster of glass skyscrapers will be emerging to the left of the Sail...I hope they would be more bluish too.

Oh my god. What a beautiful set of towers. If this was being built in Chicago it would have gotten 2 whole threads already. That first pic is amazing. I didn't think it was that close to Downtown but it's in it. And it's come a long way since I first heard about it.

I think it's time for more photos. Also, I still see cranes on the pictures but soon enough it'll have to be moved to the completed sub-forum.

I just returned from a 7.5 week trip through Southeast Asia (Vietnam / Thailand / Laos / Cambodia / Malaysia / Singapore) and of course I took thousands of photos including lots of construction updates in cities like Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Seeing as Singapore was the last city I've visited I will start with those photos.

Photos were all taken within the last 4 days.

I had a great trip indeed, especially Vietnam and Laos are absolutely fantastic places to travel in and it certainly won't be my last visit there. Lots of interesting cities, awesome landscapes and unique cultures. In Cambodia I only spent 2.5 days in Angkor Wat, but I will certainly be back someday.

If you are interested here's a map with the route I took and the places I visited: http://www.jochenhertweck.com/upload/2008_route.jpg

Expect a preview with about 100-200 photos in the next couple of days.
