A tram line runs on my street. There'e a junction right in front of my window and every now and then one of the streetcars derails. The speed is always very low so there is absolutely no risk for passengers, etc. Most of the time only one of the wheels jumps off the tracks and the car just has to reverse to get it back on.
This time it took almost 1.5 hours to fix the problem (luckily the road is closed due to roadwork so there were no traffic delays except for the streetcars on that route). I took several pictures of which only a few came out ok. This one was taken during the last test run after the 'repair':

Wow, you did it 10 years ago. That's cool. :)
Ulaan Ude was the last stop in Russia before the train arrived into Mongolia. Though, it was dark outside so we couldn't see much from the train windows.
Right now I'm in China and I've visited Beijing and Xi'an so far, and I'm currently writing this post from an internet cafe in Wuhan in the Hubei province. Tomorrow it's time to go to Nanjing and from there to Wuxi, Suzhou, Hangzhou and then Shanghai. Can't wait...

It's some thing from a playground at the housing exhibition in 2001. It's pretty weird, especially how it's located practically in the middle of nowhere. But they are soon going to build houses out there, so I guess it will be torn down.

So this pic of Olga reminds me of the ABBA videos I watched over the weekend. . . is it a coincidence that both are from Sweden??? I suspect not :cool:

. . . and speaking of ABBA. . . is anyone else pissed that Madonna ripped off their keyboard melody for her new single "Hung Up"? I mean. . . it's not even funny!!!

I love this thread. Have I said that enough. :)
That parade one is hilarious. Poor Babar, forced to beg with the peasants watching.
And I love that what I think is a self-portrait Harls (I can see the camera on the table, but it's still a winner.)

It was funny being there in person too, they were really scraping poor Babar along the street and I thought "Damn, it's going to rip."

Might be I actually danced to an Abba tune when that pic was taken! That could have done it. And also the dress that is a bit 70's style.

I'm not pissed! I don't think it's funny either - I think it's very good. :)
@harls: Great shot.

Well I'm not so much pissed at Madonna for lifting the riff, it's pretty cool in fact, I'm more pissed at myself for not knowing (until this weekend) that it was ABBA all along!!! :)

That explains it! :) I knew it was Gimme gimme gimme (a man after midnight) the first time I heard it, and I think it's a brilliant sampling.
