Thanks man, birding is actually how I got into photography about 10 years ago. I did mainly nature photography until about 5 years ago when I got kinda tired of it, then started taking photos of cities and architecture.

About a mile away you get away from the historically Acadian Catholic culture and get back into Baptist forestland country. Its very interesting the Acadian history in south Louisiana. We can thank the Seven Years War for Cajun food :)

Some of those big gambrel-roofed dairy barns were showpieces for prosperous dairy farmers, and display finish carpentry on the inside that you wouldn't expect in a barn. I saw one with the interior walls finished with tongue-and-groove carsiding and all nicely trimmed out around doorways and windows.

Presidio La Bahía, the best preserved Spanish Colonial fort in North America, it was built in the mid 1700s and was just about half a mile away from Mission Nuestra Senora del Espiritu Santo de Zuniga. The mission was where they brainwashed the natives into Catholicism, which failed miserably and the fort was built to keep the French out of the northern territories of New Spain and to protect the mission. The original town of Goliad was built around the fort and this hillside would have been covered with adobe buildings and houses at one point, until it was burnt down in the Texas Revolution during the 1830s.

Thanks. It had rained earlier that day, so there was a ton of moisture in the air, hence the vapor cloud that formed as the jet was approaching Mach 1. (It didn't actually reach Mach 1 because that would create sonic booms and break a lot of windows.)

One of the first and also last remaining Victorian homes in the Houston Heights neighborhood. I believe this house one of the original 12 built in the streetcar suburb. And Im moving just down the street from this house in a week! Cant wait.

Some untouched Facebook uploads from Tokyo. I took about 2500 photos during my week there, so it might be quite some time before I edit, upload to Flickr, and post to SSP.

No an apartment and I'm going to be able to save 400 bucks a month moving into this place in the heights. I signed a six month lease at my current place and here in two weeks they are jacking my rent up by 200 bucks. Plus my view is sweet and all but it's in a sea of parking lots and bums. This new place I'm moving to is in an old walkable pretty neighborhood, and it's just two miles away.

Would Erin approve? I think theyll actually be over here around 8-9, not sure :)
So, like could I post the photos if I cover up their nips with like a black bar or something?

I think you're supposed to have them hold pieces of fruit or something. Do you have time to go buy some pineapples, melons, or coconuts? Maybe borrow some cats or puppies from a neighbour?

Not much significant about this photo, except that it is the first one I've edited from last year. So the (slow, long) process of putting together a second St. John's thread is finally underway. I'll try to be a little more focused on getting this stuff done quicker than I usually do, but at the same time I'm also wanting to focus more on my German studies, so we'll see how well either of those go.

My first attempt at a star trail shot. I took 14 shots, each consisting of 5 minute exposures. The images were then layered in Photoshop to create a composite. I had to leave out 3 images as I think I bumped the tripod in the beginning and the star paths were not aligned with the rest. Taken in the Himalayas in Kashmir.
If you look carefully you can see discontinuity in the trails. I'll have another crack at editing it when I get my new computer. 14 stacked Raws files were too much for my old PC to handle.
