This thread is long over due. The building has been topped out, and they are now starting to apply the glass. It's a great addition to the area.

Another little greenie... Looks quite different from the model, more "glassy".

Fucking A, Anton, those pictures rule. The first four you took are insane. I love that fancy lens.

Interesting to see that the crown seems to round at the top. I have no clue how it'll look, but I'm more than a little excited.

cool, I saw a picture thread that showed this building in some photos and was wondering what it was... or couldnt remember what it was, since i'm sure i've seen this thread before. :)

It looks good. I like the shape and there is something really nice about how large and dominant over its area this one is.

must be nice to live in a city with so many projects that buildings such as this one don't get a thread right away. in philly we discuss and discuss projects and as soon as the first piece of dirt is moved, boom somebody makes a contruction thread for the building.

Thanks for this info sfan. From the its triangle plan and its very special crown I found the Golden Magnolia Hotel redesign was very closed to the rendering of the Oasis Skyway Garden Hotel... That's a confirmation.

I’m back from my huge China trip and of course I also covered all the construction going on there. So I have construction updates for buildings in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xi’an, Hangzhou and Suzhou. It will take a while until I post all of them here, since I took over 13,800 photos during the trip and as you can imagine it takes a while to sort through all of them, but let’s start with Shanghai.

All Shanghai updates were taken between 16th and 21st August

Thanks for the updates Raptor, I've been meaning to do it myself, but damn it if I haven't been too lazy. As you can see in his pics, the north side is pretty much done...although there are still some yet to be panelled strips on the south side (see Raptor's first pic). The crown looks about done as well...at least I think--to be honest I still have no idea where they are going with that thing.

So, this one appears to be pretty much done. Even the nighttime lighting system is in full effect--the crown lights up white and there are some odd rainbow colored lights running up and down the center. Sorry no pics.

I also thinking that, seeing the other photo with the lights hanging above the huge arched section. Restaurant, club....freaking great location to have something like that, outdoors on the top a skyscraper.
