The building looks to be about 200m. It's UC in Lujiazui beside the HSBC Tower. I'm not sure if it's all office or mixed use, but it sure has really odd floor to ceiling heights.

it looks like it will be a good looking bulding, based on the rendering!

I wish it will be 200 meters high but I'm not that sure. In the plot rendering, it is more in the foreground than the HSBC Tower. The given height in the skyscrapers.cn diagrams section ( http://www.skyscrapers.cn/diagrams/asia/cn/sh/sh002.htm ) is just 170 meters. However proportions seem different... So let's hope !

The structure they're building doesn't resemble the rendering at all. The structure is asymmetrical while the rendering is symmetrical. Not to mention the rendering looks considerably wider than the actual building. I wonder if there's a new design.

The actual construction looks more modest than the initial project... unless it turns out to be a very tall and slender tower.

OK, I usually don't have opinions like this about buildings, but this one looks tacky.
I suppose it'll just get buried in with the rest of the towers there.

This is not a new building. It is an old one that is being reclad. NOt sure what the name was and I moved out of lu jia zui a month ago so I can't go check but I'm sure it's been discussed on here before.

This building cracks me up. Besides some scaffolding being removed, nothing has happened to this tower in the past couple of months. Yet when I walk past the site it's really noisy with elevators going up and down etc. Just what the hell are they doing?

Again, this is not a new building. It's been there a few years. They have stripped the old facade and completely gutted it. I saw plans to put a new top on it and it looked quite a bit taller and the new cladding looked a lot nicer than the old eyesore but they don't seem to have done any of this yet. The old building was a really ugly yellow and brown horizontal stripy sort of thing.
The render in the first post looks like the Jasper tower which would be in front of this building from that angle when finished.

I remember you mentioning that this is an old building. Interesting.
As for the rendering, it's at the base of the site right where you'd enter. It's a bit of a mystery seeing that it looks nothing like the building under-construction. The Jasper rendering is a across the street and looks a lot different.

I saw a new rendering of this building. It looks the same except for the colour; it's now blue. Another crane has been added as well.

I didn't notice until today that they are building floors between the existing ones. Basically, they are doubling each level. Looks complicated

This tower is higher than previously planned. The HSBC Building is 200m hight and the core of CMBC Tower is now nearly the same height.

That's a great shot. I love all the different styles so densely packed together like that. Whew, and I though our smog in LA was bad...

After less than 20 years of intense construction in a rural area (?), Lujiazui is starting to show a bit of serious density.

Good news! It was supposed to reach just 170m and 39f. However, I've counted around 48f in the newest render. Let's hope it's reaching 200m now!
Nice angle, btw. I guess they took that pic from the Int Ocean Shipping Building. Lujiazui looks so dense from there. What a pity it wasn't sunny.
