View Full Version : Drawings Needed for Chicago Model

I'm not sure if this is the right place, if it isn't I apologize.

Basically, I'm looking to create downtown Chicago 3D model as accurately as possible. This will be to showcase future developments in the existing context, like what I've done with Trump Tower. This is a large task, one that I really can't do alone, so I'm looking for volunteers. Preferably volunteers with experience in creating textures and maps, but that can be taught rather quickly.

No experience with making 3D models needed, all that will be taken care of by myself and anyone else who comes aboard. If you can draw diagrams for SSP, you're exactly what I need.

Examples:

I want to replace pretty much every grey box building with a custom designed model like Trump, Sears and JHC (IBM was a 10 minute quickie made so Trump had something to reflect off of).

Any Takers?

STR stopped updating his model quite a while back.

Not true, he recently posted on a chicago forum (within the last week or two) that he now has much more time on his hands and will be continuing his work starting with completely redoing his Trump, Waterview, and Chicago Spire models.

I'm sure he'd be thrilled if you guys volunteered to help him out, even though he asked two years ago...

Well I mean his thread, back then he was going to model all of Chicago, now he's only been spending time on the newer projects.

I could help come summertime. I was planning on updating a lot of the Chicago diagrams anyway.

I don't really need help with this anymore. I've moved to an enitrely different method of modeling in which I don't just wrap a texture around it, but actually model the features of the building.

It's still around. I put way, way, WAYY too much work into all of my models to loose them. Work on them has been stop and go, mostly stop. I have other hobbies and things consuming my time.
