City's skyscraper theme park plan

A £60m skyscraper with theme park rides and a restaurant at the top could be built in Birmingham.

The 175m (574ft) Birmingham Pinnacle will be built next to Millennium Point, if the city council approves the plans.

Rides include a high level seesaw, a freefall parachute drop, a bungee drop and a 50-passenger gyro ride.

The building would be the Midlands' tallest, the first of its kind in Europe and would resemble the Stratosphere tower in Las Vegas.

This needs a big recap.

The tallest regional tower outside London may be in Birmingham aswell with a major mixed-use scheme down Broad Street. Technically it already is in the VTP but most of that is theme-park.

It looks similar to Oklahoma City

A little. Oklahoma's skyline though is alot more compact which I prefer. It'll take Birmingham a little while to achieve that as the city is quite spread out. The skyline stretched almost 2 miles which is pretty huge considering. The city does have over a dozen planned 100m+ towers but unfortunately due to the credit crunch our new tallest has seized construction for the time being. Podium has been done and the lobby has been completed but now they have switched thier battention to the 2nd 75m tall Office block instead of the twin residential, hotel tower scheme.
