that building is atrocious.

I've seen this before. I don't think much of it. I'd lean more to the side of it not getting built though.

Patrick Sep 15, 2008 3:55 AM

I like it, hah.

giallo Sep 15, 2008 10:38 AM

As much as I love PC, I have to agree with architect1 here. The building is an absolute mess. Imagine the shadow this POS will cast.

LeftCoaster Sep 15, 2008 10:01 PM

the word hideous gets thrown around an awful lot these days...

but in this case i would say it is completely warranted. WTF??

Apex Sep 16, 2008 1:05 AM

Hard to see what they might have been going for with this design ... yuck. :(

MapleLeaf Sep 16, 2008 7:00 AM

Lol. It looks like they took parts of several other buildings and put them together to get this. :haha:

So damn ugly.

This looks like some corporate logo gone horribly wrong. I think I see part of the MTV logo.

Rilestone75 Sep 16, 2008 3:48 PM

Horrible!

Jeebus Hep Me!

If this building is going by the 'form follows function' dictate, then it has to be either a slaughterhouse or a waste management facility.

It looks like a design from another era.
Its inelegance is appealing.

TANGELD_SLC Sep 22, 2008 8:24 AM

I seriously really like this building... LOL It's just not something you see getting built everywhere else. It's probably a good thing since alot of people find it unattractive, but I like it plenty.

Bergenser Sep 22, 2008 9:24 AM

Actually I think it has an ok design, if you look at the neighboring architecture, You'll notice that it fits perfectly with the soroundings.

CYVSA2412 Oct 7, 2008 3:34 PM

Does any know who's the GC or Construction Manager for Megapolis Towers in Panama?

vanman Oct 7, 2008 5:21 PM

It looks like somebody crapped on an iceberg.

MolsonExport Oct 7, 2008 7:17 PM

That photo does not look like 89 floors high, but rather, 89 floors wide.

Is this a double-reverse secret insult? :haha:

Either that or you'll be soon receiving a summons for a libel suit against you by owners in the surrounding area.

Seriously, this building looks like someone assembled some Legos during a Grand Mal seizure. Inelegance? More like incontinence.

You can laugh at its design all you want. The hotel is being built by Decameron Group and will be highly successful and profitable. And you will still be sitting on your sofa writing comments while those involved with the project will be cashing nice checks. I doubt that any who spout off have ever been, or will go to Panama to see the final product. Maybe the room rates at Megapolis will be out of your reach?

^Been to Panama City and loved it, but that still doesn't make this building anymore pleasing to the eye.
