First view of wtc 1

I know what he means, i was coming out of the subway and it just swallowed everything in my view.

Can't wait for an imax movie about it to come out, I hope Freeman and Mcgulliver have been filming the construction

Keep in mind that despite what the article says, it's not the station that has to be moved, but the temporary exit/entrance. The station is currently active and has been throughout construction. Once the new concourse is built, pedestrians will exit in all directions, including through the towers. But until then, there's only one way in and out. The Freedom Tower will beging accepting tenants before then, so there has to be a way to get whatever tenants need into the building. I think it's the timing of everything that got screwed up. I'm just curious as to where the temporary loading bays will be.

Was that in reply to me? I'm a female... Looks like I'm possibly the only one in this thread?! :D

I had no idea they were making an IMAX movie... That is awesome, and I want to see that! As for the view upon getting off the subway, exactly! You get out at Church St and BAM. 1, 4 and 7 WTC RIGHT there. I spent a lot of time in Lower Manhattan in September... Figuring out all the places where I would be able to catch a glimpse of it. :)

I think he was saying he wished an imax movie would come out. That would be pretty cool though, documenting the whole reconstruction process once the entire site is complete.

Ugh... I fail. I just got off work and am tired, so I completely missed that part. :duh yes... that would be awesome!

WTC's 1, 4, and 7 definitely have the best glass in all of New York/the world. So glossy, so perfectly reflective.

Awesome video

I don't know if you guys haven't seen this awesome video yet (its on the official WTC website) but these are some extremely realistic renderings of the future World Trade Center unlike any I've ever seen. They look like real video footage. Enjoy!

There is a documentary that uses the renderings called "Rising:Rebuilding of Ground Zero".

Here are more renderings from the company. Credits to Dbox.

They are probably the only renderings that defeat STR's. Sorry STR.

Simply incredible. Even when I pause the shot at 2:20, I truly can't tell I'm looking at CGI (and I work with CGI on a daily basis). We can wait for photographs of the finished site, or we can watch this video over and over again.

Fluffybagel Feb 2, 2012 3:14 AM

:previous::omg:
Holy crap, that's incredible!

J_M_Tungsten Feb 2, 2012 3:17 AM

These buildings have grown on me more than any other buildings I have have ever followed from proposal to constuction! Simply perfect!
