Moscow's skyline
|
I really like how the current cunstruction will shape this skyline. Thanks for posting those panos.
|
Brad, I took the liberty and posted this pic here http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/show...=125731&page=3 as well. Along with many other pics of SCC origin.
Speaking of Moscow skyline, you have several great shots taken from Novyj Arbat highrises. It would be nice IMO if you show them here too. OK, I'll do it myself... This one is by Brad, dating around September 2006 taken from one of New Arbat highrises http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/2...ama1422kr5.jpg |
a city I would love to visit one day
|
Wow! I got totally dizzy scrolling around. Great work. So much building going on there, it's great. Would really like to visit someday. Have always been so interested in/infatuate with the city.

It's definately a city that I will visit one day not so far! And the rest of the country as well...

Beautiful skyline!!!
Moscow is more than the Kremlin. |

it would be interesting to see how it changes every year - we practically cannot see IBC in this one; and several other highrises came up since than as well |

To be honest Moscow doesn't win my heart to much, at least not during winter... Not enough green, to much gray and dull browns... save for the last few pictures.
Anyone have late spring-early summer shots? |
Staff, I never get tired of that pano of yours!
@Brad, you, sir, have some of the sickest Moscow shots around. |
wow, if those two photos from bolik posted by anm were in a guess the city thread I probably would never have thought it was Moscow, if not for the skyscraper with cone steeples which i recognize.

Moscow is gonna be off the hook in 2011 - just look at those skyscrapers! Moscow really is an incredible city from many angles. A place I must get to as soon as possible.
I love this pic. Is it a park within Moscow or a wilderness area outside of it? Because if that is a park then it is an incredible one and I must say puts Central Park to shame. http://skyscrapers.ru/gallery/d/9572-1/35.jpg |

These banks of Moscow river are well within city limits but much closer to the city edge than to the center. The very first pic in this thread is a panorama by Brad. This park does not put Central Park to shame simply because they are way too different in location, complexion, sheer size, etc. A comparison with Bois de Boulogne in Paris would be more relevant IMO. |

a view out of his window; not really a skyline shot, but shows the scope of construction of the skyline... those 5 story buildings buried in the trees are living their last months, the 9-story tower will probably live a few years more http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/3050/0751wy2.jpg a really cool thread about mass demolition of the 5-story commiblocks by Worg is here a couple of shots http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/7362/crash10qm2.jpg http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/6806/crash36lj6.jpg |

http://img443.imageshack.us/img443/3050/0751wy2.jpg how funny, I know EXACTLY where that is; it's Chertanovskaya ulitsa, just south of Balaklavskiy prospekt. i used to live right by there and a friend lives right next to that tall building going up (it blocks her view now). |
Moscow's beautiful. In a few years, it'll have an awesome skyline.

not exactly a "skyline" shot, but in a couple of years the whole span of this pic, from left to right, will be covered by towers http://rf.foto.radikal.ru/0708/6b/edd56e1ee900.jpg photo by ANB http://i19.tinypic.com/642lj4x.jpg again, it may be a little premature to show a pic from this point now, but in 2-3 years it will be a quite different view |

more " a view from above" than a skyline, but I do not want to start a new thread because of this... plus Moscow State U is a building that is a skyline by itself taken from one of New Arbat highrises, from about 100 m http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a79...ntonnosik2.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a79...ntonnosik1.jpg http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a79...c3bd3_orig.jpg |

as the following two pics by unkernet from ru_roofers suggest, Moscow skyline is still in an early tender developing stage... but is already attractive nevertheless...
