OK. Your links are working now!

Innsertnamehere Jan 3, 2013 7:04 PM

ah yes, the perils of linking UT hosted images.. (they work fine for me)

DrNest Jan 3, 2013 9:21 PM

Um, I can't get the links to work. Is it because I'm not a member of UT?
Any chance of posting the images for all to see please? Thank.

Innsertnamehere Jan 3, 2013 9:24 PM

should be fixed.

No doubt there will be naysayers, but I like these designs based on the relatively rudimentary sketch posted above.

Crazy, crazy, crazy, if all of these recent gargantuan proposals see the light of day!

koops65 Jan 4, 2013 1:33 AM

8 of the 10 tallest in the city proposed in the last 9 months...

I really like the look of the tallest two towers based on the above images.
I'm not so sure on the shorter two's slants, but I will admit that it's something that could grow on me

Innsertnamehere Jan 4, 2013 1:49 AM

koops must be screaming to himself about all these drawings he has to do.. 5 new towers now!

koops65 Jan 4, 2013 2:03 AM

I've made the 2 tallest, but those twin 215 metre towers with the crazy angles look daunting to say the least... give me some time on them.

I actually love them, if they are in fact offset as shown. The taller two are less adventurous, but I find them very pleasing as well.

Where have you found heights on any of these? Do tell. 215 m. is a bit disappointing.

J_M_Tungsten Jan 4, 2013 3:02 AM

It looks like a white cactus :D I like it though

caltrane74 Jan 4, 2013 3:04 AM

The 70 Floor Menkes Towers were 239 meters, and the 67 floor ICE Tower is 235 meters, what gives here?

With an illustrators account you can click on the "Upload a drawing" link on the building page, and it will tell you the estimated height.

Whoever entered the One Yonge development into the database put in the estimated heights. I definitely suspect the numbers are low, at or near the minimum possible heights for these towers. I mean, the tallest, 98 floors, doesnt even break 300 metres (298M), and the 92 floor tower has an estimated height of 280 metres. But they are just estimates, and we will have to wait for Pinnacle to release the true heights.

Innsertnamehere Jan 4, 2013 3:43 AM

the office tower in the image should be between 170-180m if you are comparing it to 1 york, which is just 1 floor shorter than this proposal. I think it is safe to say the 70 floor proposals are just 215m tall.

caltrane74 Jan 4, 2013 3:53 AM

I don't think its safe to say a 70 Floor tower is 215 meters.

L Tower is 58 Floors and is 205 meters.

70 Floors is bare minimum 225 meters.

Aura is 78 Floors and 273 meters, but here 92 Floors is 280?

Gimme a Break!

Innsertnamehere Jan 4, 2013 3:58 AM

my official guesstimates based off of a 180m office tower, and counting floors presuming them to be 3m tall:

I see. Maybe I'm talking out of my ass here, but it seems a peculiarly Torontonian phenomenon for there to be a bevy of 90+ storey proposals afoot (Mirvish trio, Oxford duo, 1 Yonge duo), and only a couple of them barely crack 300m or 1000ft. It must be the notorious Toronto Cheapening® in action yet again.
Not to revive a tired city comparison again, but anything 98 storeys in Manhattan isn't going to be tolerated at under, say, 1100ft, minimum.

Innsertnamehere Jan 4, 2013 4:03 AM

because anything built in manhatten that tall will be a superluxury building similar to the four seasons or shangri-la. (you would be looking at 384m if built to the four seasons floorplate size)
